Republican Convention Day Two Wrap up

The evening started off with the call of States and the nomination process. So for the next 2 1/2 hours the TV audience was given the honor of hearing from every State of the Union and how the delegates voted. There really was no hidden agenda here and everyone knew the outcome would be Donald Trump receiving the nomination of the party to represent them for the Presidency of the United States. The speakers of the night were supposed to be talking of getting America back to work. Unfortunately that didn't happen and the TV audience was shown the beginnings of what is coming in the months ahead. The attack of Hillary Clinton has officially begun.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie went for the jugular and became the prosecutor of the evening. You could hear the delegates chanting "Lock Her Up". So it begins, and by the end of this election season the citizens of the United States will have seen one of the most ruthless Presidential runs ever.

Trumps children Donald Trump Jr. and Tiffany took center stage and attempted to paint a caring and understanding father. Tiffany spoke on a more personal level, talking about how her father was always there for her especially during a dark time in her life when a friend had passed away and she took it badly. Trump Jr. talked more of the business side of his father. He spoke of how his father hires his employees and that he took it more from a street perspective rather than an elitist point of view. Junior did speak of the need to bring America back to work but he did so by attacking the Democrats and their lack of being able to do so.

Overall it was an evening that would show this convention was finally coming together and solidifying its backing of Trump for President. What it didn't do was give America a blueprint of how the Republicans are going to bring us back to work. What it did do was show just how nasty this campaign season is going to be. What it did do was show America how Chris Christie may be looking for a job as Attorney General in a Trump cabinet. What it did do was show America a lighter side of Donald Trump through the eyes of his children.

Day Three is coming tomorrow and the highlight will be the speech coming from Trump running mate Mike Pence. The Indiana Governor is going to have to give possibly the greatest speech of his life. Day three may be big enough to overshadow Trumps acceptance speech coming on Thursday but we shall see.

'Bitten: The Final Season' DVD Review

Elena Michaels (Laura Vandervoort) is a photographer who was bitten by a werewolf. She would try to hide her secret in the beginning of the series but over a period of time would eventually become the strong ferocious leader of a pack of her own. Her pack is called Stonehaven and to put it mildly they are pretty bad ass.

The Final Season finds the Stonehaven pack on the move and hunting for the Russian Alpha and his group. The bad blood between these two groups is a decades old vendetta that can no longer go unanswered. Elena does have her problems with the alpha male of her pack and the direction he seems to be taking the group. This forces Elena to look deep into herself for answers to questions that have gone unanswered. The discoveries she makes about herself will shock you. This final season is action packed along with a taste of finality that keeps you glued through every episode.

This show has acquired a following that is dedicated and loyal and have spoken the truth about the final season and that is this is probably the best of the shows history. Sometimes you will find shows that have  a certain quality that keeps you entertained week after week. 'Bitten' is one of those shows. Republican Convention Day One Wrap up

The Republican Convention opened up in Cleveland on Monday July 18th, 2016 to a very lukewarm reception. We the people have been promised a convention to surpass all others. What we got was tepid speeches, a brief rules challenge, no serious protests outside the convention, and a plagiarized First Lady Speech.

The first day speakers all spoke of making America safe again, attacks on Hillary Clinton, and keeping safe the Republican control of Congress. The saddest part of these speeches was that they were lackluster at best. They truly did not get the audience involved and to put it mildly it almost seemed that the delegates were bored. I know the TV audience certainly was bored.

By mid afternoon those delegates that were not in favor of electing Donald Trump as their candidate tried to rework the rules of the convention. They were quieted quickly and some actually walked out of the event.

As for the promised demonstrations outside the convention those that did took place were tame at best. Yes, there was some who supported Black Lives Matter and some attackers on Hillary Clinton, but for the most part it was quiet.

The finale of the evening was the speech of Melania Trump and the introduction given by her husband. Donald Trump came on stage to the song "We Are The Champions" by Queen. What has become a first day faux pas is the possible plagiarism of Melania's speech from Michelle Obama's speech of 2008. There were similar lines almost word for word, but some could say that it was just a small mistake.

All in all the first day of the Republican Convention sucked. The bottom line is that if the party wants to win over some of the undecided votes, they fell far short. Hopefully day 2 will knock us off our feet, but it really doesn't look like that will happen.

Cannabis

Cannabis is called many things but one name that is used the most is Marijuana. It has been illegal for decades. The governments of the world have spent trillions trying to fight it's usage. What's even more ironic is that these same governments know that marijuana can be used for many different things.
For instance, the United States has held a patent for medical marijuana for the past four decades. It can help children who suffer from seizures actually cutting the number down from 200 a week to one. Now, that is amazing, and what really matters is that not all the children who need it can get it. You see it's not legal in all the states.

Medical Marijuana can help with cancer patients who must endure chemotherapy. It can help those who have glaucoma. Medical marijuana can now be used to help those who are affected with Alzheimer's. The plant is now being tested to help veterans with PTSD. It is unthinkable that a simple weed or plant does more than the pills that pharmaceutical companies are trying to pass off as trusted remedies, yet they deny us.
Marijuana has been used for thousands of years for many other things such as paper, building materials, and can be used as fuel. It can be grown anywhere and its uses can include clothing and other textiles.
So why then if we have found so many uses for marijuana is it still illegal? In some states they have finally come to terms with the true facts. It is a cash crop that for states like Colorado who have legalized both medical and recreational marijuana it can be a windfall of taxes that eventually helps the state.
It is time for the citizens of this great country to finally see the former evil weed for what it is, and that is a plus for medicine and industry. Legalize it now. To find out more information please check out United For Care.

Republican National Convention 2016

The Republicans have arrived in Cleveland, Ohio. The speakers as well as the delegates are lackluster at best. What we have not seen as yet are the wide spread demonstrations that we have been promised. Yes, it is the first day of a four day event but seriously is it really going to get any better?

Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi was speaking this afternoon but what was coming from his mouth was nothing new, just the same old party line mumbo jumbo. The bashing of President Obama was quite prevalent including the inadequacy of his time in office. The attack on Obamacare came as easily as one picks his own nose. We've seen and heard it all before and it's time that someone comes up with a better grasp on the realities facing the United States.

Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas followed Wicker but unfortunately the audience was left with the feeling that we have heard it all before, oh yes we did minutes before. The musical performances  between the speakers was also lackluster at best. Simply put, Republicans if you want the American vote you really should create a better show. Yes, that's right I said show because really that's what a political convention is, a show. Which party can generate more enthusiasm and get that undecided vote to come over to their side.
So we have three more days and I certainly hope that the Republican Party can generate more enthusiasm because what I saw this afternoon made me take a nap.

'Bad Moon' DVD Review

Ted Harrison (Michael Pare) is a photojournalist who has a secret like no other. He actually is a werewolf. This all took place when he was out in the woods of Nepal and was bitten by a beast he had never seen before. Ted would eventually become a beast himself and it didn't matter what stage the moon was in, he would turn each and every night.

Ted decided to head to the Pacific Northwest to spend some time with his sister and nephew. Janet (Mariel Hemingway) had no idea what her brother had become. The strangest thing though, her German Shepherd Thor knew something was wrong with this stranger. Ted believed the secret would always be kept hidden as dead men can't say anything. He never had a clue that a family pet would know better. Thor was there to protect his family and this certainly was something to be wary of. Ted did well for a time but eventually he will slip up and attack one or both of his family.

'Bad Moon' has all the screams and horror you would expect from a werewolf film. The acting is good and it really does bring it all together for a terrifying experience. Scream Factory brings this terror to DVD on July 19th, 2016. The DVD quality is excellent and the sights and sounds are great. This is definitely one for that personal library. Can Thor protect his family from a beast more horrifying than anything known? You mut watch the film to get that answer. Enjoy.

'Model Hunger' DVD Review

Ginny (Lynn Lowry) is an ex-model that has been cast aside by an uncaring industry that simply put, exploits woman.  Now, this woman does not take rejection very well. She is not a spring chicken anymore but she is certainly not an ugly woman. The problem is that she is just not marketable anymore.
Ginny becomes a broken woman. She looks at people not as human beings anymore but as dinner. She wants revenge and she wants it bad. Ginny feels that if an industry can simply eat her away then she can do the same to people.
Debbie (Tiffany Shepis) and Sal (Carmine Capobianco) move in next door to Ginny and almost immediately they know that something is seriously wrong with their neighbor. Debbie really is the first to suspect that Ginny is a little off. Sal simply feels she is nuts. Debbie tries to figure out what is going on next door with her neighbor Ginny and the secret life she is living. Sometimes though it is better to just not get involved. You end up living longer, usually. Ginny on the other hand does not care for her loud new neighbors and you guessed it, trouble is looming on the horizon.
Wild Eye Releasing is bringing this delicious tale of rejection to us on DVD on July 12th, 2016. This movie is also the directorial debut of horror actress Debbie Rochon. I must say she does a very good job on her first job as a
director. The DVD quality is excellent and the sights and sounds are exquisite. If you enjoy the horror genre then this is certainly one that you will want for your personal library. So don't waste any time and see who is next for dinner.
