For eight seasons, John Mahoney played Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle. WWII was taking place all over the world but crime did not take a holiday at home. Criminals wanted to get their hands into anything that could make a buck. The black market and profiteering were probably the biggest problems but you had the odd murder that took place from time to time. Foyle was an honest cop and literally was fighting his own war as his son a fighter pilot fought his.
This show had a down home appeal to it and with the war as its backdrop made for a very good show. As the run of 'Foyle's War' was coming to an end a documentary was put together that brought everything to nice conclusion. You will see just how the show was put together. You are going to see highlights of shows past and you will see the stars as they were getting ready for their scenes.
Revisited will have interviews with John Mahoney, Michael Kitchen, Honeysuckle Weeks, Anthony Howell, and Daniel Weyman. The actors will talk of their time on the show and how it has changed their lives.
Acorn brings 'Foyle's War Revisited' to DVD on September 6, 2016. The DVD is pure quality and the sights and sounds are excellent. This is certainly a must for all you fans of Foyle's War. It is such a nice way to look back on all the episodes that has been made over the years. Foyle's War started off during the war but would eventually grow to incorporate the Cold War that soon followed.
Foyle as I said was an honest policeman and the show had a charm all to itself. If you have missed this classic show you are able to pick up all 28 episodes on DVD. So if Revisited sparks your interests then by all means get on out and see the whole series. You will certainly be entertained. Enjoy.
