'Blood' DVD Review

Cat Hogan (Carolina Main) has to deal with the death of her mother. Her mom dies suddenly and the thought of returning to her hometown upsets her even worse. Cat is a loner and doesn’t get along with her family at all. She hasn’t gotten along with her father (Adrian Dunbar) since her childhood because of a trauma that occurred. Her siblings think she is a troublemaker and haven’t gotten along with her in years.

Cat hears all the details of the accident that caused her mother’s death and thinks something is up. She believes that her father may have had a hand in the death. He is a Doctor and thinks he may have caused her death. Cat begins to look into all that happened and starts to uncover long buried secrets that makes the death even harder to cope with. If the secrets are true it will tear apart what’s left of her ties with her family.

This thriller is dark to begin with but when you add the psychological aspects it makes this a must see. Was Cat’s mother murdered or did she die from natural causes only watching the whole story will answer those questions. Blood comes to us on Acorn TV but we can get it on DVD on May 28th, 2019. The quality of the DVD Is excellent. The sights and sounds are exquisite to say the least. This is a wonderful addition to that personal library. You will enjoy this over and over again. It makes a rainy afternoon seem just a little more enjoyable.

For many of us we can relate to Cat Hogan in that we don’t have good relationships with our families.what we might not have are the questions that might occur in a questionable death like she does with her mothers demise.

'Agatha Raisin, Series 2' DVD Review

Agatha Raisin (Ashley Jensen) was a London Public Relations aficionado who decided to become an amateur sleuth. Agatha decided on early retirement and went to a small village nestled in the Cotswolds. Now what would become an interesting fact is that this little community has its share of murders. Agatha takes it upon herself to solve all the murders but she does it in rather curious ways.

'Agatha Raisin, Series 2' features 3 mysteries that are spellbinding to say the least. 'The Wizard of Evesham' has Agatha investigating her hair stylist who she believes is blackmailing her clients due to their secrets. Our second story, 'The Fairies Of Fryfam' has Agatha  on a short sabbatical. Actually she is taking some time off until one of the locals employs her to find out if her husband is having an affair. The final episode is called 'The Curious Curate'. When the new curate arrives all handsome and good looking it causes quite a stir. When a murder takes place and one of Agatha’s friends is the prime suspect Agatha immediately becomes involved.

Agatha Raisin is a novel way of spending an interesting afternoon and you can watch all of them on DVD. On May 7th, 2019 Series 2 is being sold on DVD. The quality of the DVD is always excellent especially since it comes from Acorn TV. The sights and sounds of the DVD are superb. Agatha Raisin has been compared to Jessica Fletcher of 'Murder, She Wrote' fame.

Agatha has help from her friends Sir Charles (Jason Merrells), Roy (Mathew Horne), and Gemma (Katy Wix) in solving the village problems. One must wonder why Agatha left such a lucrative PR gig to become a sleuth. This is definitely a must for that personal library and you can watch the stories over and over. It will make a great way to enjoy a rainy Sunday afternoon. So don’t waste any time and pick this one up today.

'No Offence, Series 3' DVD Review

Our story is based in Manchester, England. A team of some very unorthodox police officers will thrill you and make you laugh all the same time. DI Vivienne Deering (Joanna Scanlan) and her crew are the security for an election debate that goes horribly wrong. A gunman wants to kill one of the candidates. Deering and her second DC Dinah Kowalska (Elaine Cassidy) have said they are going to catch the culprit. The problem comes when Deering’s superiors have stated that their investigation into the assassination attempt could very easily jeopardize an undercover police officer who infiltrated a right wing group responsible for the attempt. Deering wants to catch the shooter only because she doesn’t want her team to look bad, but if she pursues this case it could put another cops life at risk.

This show is one of the best. It’s one of the cleverest cop shows to come out in the last couple of years. The mix of seriousness and comedy makes it an exhilarating and shrewd cop drama that makes you wanting more. The series also stars Lisa McGrillis, Claire Rushbrook, Will Mellor, Paul Ritter and  Sharon Rooney. Which all put together make this cast one of the best.
The Friday Street Station is always on its feet when it comes to fighting crime and the women want to prove their worth. The characters are strong but you do get to see the human side to each and every Officer.

Acorn brings this wonderful show to DVD on May 7th, 2019. The quality of the DVD is superb and the sights and sounds are perfect. This is quality at its best. You will want to get this one and put it into that personal library of DVDs that you may own. You will be playing this one over and over. It’s that good. So don’t waste any time and pick this one up very soon because they will be going fast.
