'Slasher.Com' DVD Review

We live in a different kind of world when it comes to meeting people and dating. Jack (Ben Kaplan ) and Kristy (Morgan Carter) have been talking to each other through a dating app. The conversations have been very cool and eventually the two want to meet each other. They decide to spend a weekend in the woods of Missouri. Now most people would simply want to have dinner and maybe a movie for their first date, but not our two love birds. They believe that they are ready for a first date and more.

The campground is okay, but it's the owners that one should be worried about. Momma (Jewel Shepard)  and her husband Jesse (R.A. Mihailoff) are two of the strangest characters you could ever meet. What really makes this a little awkward is that Jack and Kristy are so focused on each other that they don't see the warning signs when it comes to Momma and Jesse. Our two love birds are outsiders in the deep woods and they really just don't have a clue about what is going to take place.

Jack and Kristy wake up the next morning tied to chairs in the basement of Momma and Jesse. It is from here that the true horror of this film takes place. Can Jack and Kristy overcome the horror that is about to take place on them? This is the question that must be answered. This is why you must watch the whole film to find out the ending.

Mucho Mucho Mucho Productions and Firefly Films are bringing this horror film to us on DVD March 7th, 2017. The quality of the DVD is excellent and the sights and sounds are fantastic. This is a definite must see. So don't waste any time  and pick this one up. Those of you with a personal DVD library will definitely want to add this to your collection. Enjoy.

'Wentworth Season 2' DVD Review

Wentworth Prison is about to undergo some big changes. Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) is being held in the psych ward under heavy medications after being found guilty for manslaughter. She received twelve years for her crime and since the murder of her daughter she has not been able to run anything. While Bea has been laid up Franky (Nicole da Silva) has taken over running 'Wentworth'. Now, just as Franky thought everything was going her way a new warden shows up on the scene. The new governor of the prison is Joan Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) and wants to put Franky on the ropes.

When Ferguson first came to Wentworth she tried to buddy up to Franky. Franky wanted nothing to do with Ferguson and the new governor will do anything to push Franky out of being top dog.
Ferguson goes to Bea and weens her off the meds but Bea is still hurting over her daughters death and all she can think about is getting her revenge against Brayden Holt (Reef Ireland) the person she blames for her daughters death. Ferguson finally goes to the prison itself and tries to recruit informants. This puts the prison population in a bad place, forcing them to choose sides.
This opens up 'Wentworth Season 2' to some very interesting twists and turns. Wentworth brings us into the lives of inmates and shows us how most of the time a person inside lives by their wits to survive.

Acorn brings this excellent storyline to us on DVD on March 7th2017. The quality of the DVD is excellent and the sights and sounds are fantastic. This will make an excellent addition to that personal library. You'll love to watch season 2 so much that you will want to pick up season 1. Will Franky be able to hold on to that coveted slot of being number one or will Bea get her revenge for her daughters death and take back her spot as nĂºmero uno in the prison hierarchy. Don't waste any time and pick this one up and find out what the women of Wentworth Prison do with all the upcoming changes. Enjoy.

'Suspects Series 5' DVD Review

'Suspects' is not your everyday crime drama. The stories takes place in London and deal with murder, attempted murder, missing people, drug overdoses, sex crimes, and child abuse. The main difference is that the shows dialogue is improvised. It really does bring a realistic tone to the quality of the show.
DS Jack Weston (Damien Molony) and DC Charlie Steele (Clare-Hope Ashitey) are the heart and soul of their small team. Along with their boss DI Martha Bellamy the team does a great job in protecting the citizens of London.

Series 5 begins with the murder of Bellamy and her husband Adrian. This takes Weston and Steele for a complete shock. The team will take on three more people for this case. DCI Daniel Drummond (James Murray) along with Detectives Gary Roscoe (Perry Fitzpatrick) and Alisha Brooks (Lenora Crichlow) will round out the new team. Right off the bat the new team begins to realize that Bellamy's murder could be connected to a cold case that Bellamy was investigating. Soon the squad learns that Drummond may have ties to one of the prime suspects of the cold case. Another turn to the plot would be that Bellamy's husband Adrian was probably being blackmailed by a young lady in a video. Unfortunately, the young lady's body washes up on shore and thus opening up another twist to our story.
Acorn brings 'Suspects Series 5' to DVD on March 7th, 2017. The quality of the DVD is excellent and the sights and sounds are exquisite. This will add to that personal library of yours and you can pick up series 1-4 to round it out. This expertly done crime drama is really so much more with its approach. This improvised dialogue adds so much more to the show its unbelievable. This is definitely one of the best shows on TV and makes for excellent viewing. Enjoy.

'A Place To Call Home, Season 4' DVD Review

Sarah Nordmann (Marta Dusseldorp) is a nurse who works for the Bligh family. The Bligh's are a wealthy Australian family who are facing a brand new world after WWII. The rise of communism world wide is beginning to spread over the planet. There isn't a continent on earth that hasn't been touched by the red menace. There is also a new wave of social change that is taking everybody by surprise.

The new season opens with the death of the local teacher Millie Davis. It was believed that she had committed suicide but it comes to light that she was poisoned. It seems Regina Bligh (Jenni Baird) had laced a drink with rat poison that was intended for Sarah. Millie drank the poison and would later die. Regina felt extremely bad about the mistake that killed Millie but she still wanted Sarah out of the way. Sarah confronts Regina and lets her know that she figured out that Millie was murdered and that it wasn't a suicide. She goes right to Regina and asks her what it felt like to be a murderer.
Now this doesn't sit well with Regina and it comes back to haunt Sarah when Sgt. Brian Taylor (Rohan Nichol) begins to investigate Sarah as a communist.
This is just one part of our story others could be the rape of Carolyn Duncan (Sara Wiseman) by Sir Richard Bennett (Mark Lee). Richard threatens Carolyn with another rape if she doesn't give him information about James and Olivia Bligh (David Berry and Arianwen Parkes-Lockwood). Richard knows that their marriage is basically a joke or a sham and he wonders just how much longer it will last.
Can we simply say that you truly just need to sit down and watch this show to be able to understand all that is going on. This is one of the best coming out of Australia in a long time. Acorn brings Season 4 to DVD on February 28th, 2017.  The quality of the DVD is excellent and the sights and sounds are fantastic.
