'Marcella - Season 2' DVD Review

Anna Friel is back in her role as DS Marcella Backland. Marcella is an experienced London Detective who suffers from severe blackouts that an become violent. Season 2 is somewhat close to home for Marcella. A body of a young boy is found inside a wall. A problem about this case is that Marcella’s son was seen walking home with the little boy years before. Soon after the first corpse is found more bodies begin to turn up. Marcella becomes very involved with this case and begins the tedious work of finding a serial killer. As the case is being investigated Marcella’s mental health begin to deteriorate.
'Marcella' is a wonderful series and allows the viewer to see police work with a human touch. Most of the time cop shows don’t allow the viewer that human touch. Most of the time you watch the cops solve the crimes and you might get a glimpse of their personal lives. Marcella does everything she can to get the crook but this time she may be out of her comfort zone. The fact that she knew the young boy and her deteriorating health just may be too much.
