'A Place To Call Home, Season 4' DVD Review

Sarah Nordmann (Marta Dusseldorp) is a nurse who works for the Bligh family. The Bligh's are a wealthy Australian family who are facing a brand new world after WWII. The rise of communism world wide is beginning to spread over the planet. There isn't a continent on earth that hasn't been touched by the red menace. There is also a new wave of social change that is taking everybody by surprise.

The new season opens with the death of the local teacher Millie Davis. It was believed that she had committed suicide but it comes to light that she was poisoned. It seems Regina Bligh (Jenni Baird) had laced a drink with rat poison that was intended for Sarah. Millie drank the poison and would later die. Regina felt extremely bad about the mistake that killed Millie but she still wanted Sarah out of the way. Sarah confronts Regina and lets her know that she figured out that Millie was murdered and that it wasn't a suicide. She goes right to Regina and asks her what it felt like to be a murderer.
Now this doesn't sit well with Regina and it comes back to haunt Sarah when Sgt. Brian Taylor (Rohan Nichol) begins to investigate Sarah as a communist.
This is just one part of our story others could be the rape of Carolyn Duncan (Sara Wiseman) by Sir Richard Bennett (Mark Lee). Richard threatens Carolyn with another rape if she doesn't give him information about James and Olivia Bligh (David Berry and Arianwen Parkes-Lockwood). Richard knows that their marriage is basically a joke or a sham and he wonders just how much longer it will last.
Can we simply say that you truly just need to sit down and watch this show to be able to understand all that is going on. This is one of the best coming out of Australia in a long time. Acorn brings Season 4 to DVD on February 28th, 2017.  The quality of the DVD is excellent and the sights and sounds are fantastic. There is simply so much you could talk about when it comes to this show but it really is simpler to just watch it. You will want to get this collection into that personal library and then you'll want to pick up Season 1-3 soon. So take the time to pick up Season 4 and enjoy all that's going on with the Bligh family.
