'Love, Lies & Records' DVD Review

Kate Dickenson (Ashley Jensen) is the Senior Registrar in a British Registrar office. This is a heartwarming drama that shows the daily goings on in the office where people record life’s big events. People will come to record the birth of their children or when they get married. The worst part of the job is when Dickenson has to record the death of a beloved friend or family member. Kate has a life away from the office where she has teenagers and her longtime partner Rob (Adrian Bower) to deal with. I suppose we can say that Kate has a very emotional life at home and at work. So with everything that Kate has to deal with one could say that this is a show with a lot of drama.

Kate’s coworkers, especially Judy (Rebecca Front), are rather jealous of her due to the big promotion she just received. Judy is so jealous that she wants to report Kate and her indiscretion she had with a fellow co worker by the name of Rick (Kenny Doughty). Judy believes that by reporting this indiscretion it would make Kate look terrible to her other coworkers. In other words Judy just wants to ruin Kate’s job and family life. Yes, we can say this throws a lot more pressure on Kate’s shoulders.

Kay Mellor the award winning writer does a beautiful job putting these stories together that brings the best out of the actors on the show. Acorn brings this wonderful drama to DVD on March 27th, 2018. The quality of the DVD is excellent and the sights and sounds are superb. This show will be a fantastic addition to that personal library and will add a certain spice to your viewing pleasure. So don’t waste any time and pick this one up. Watch how a modern business woman works through the everyday struggles of dealing with the general public and her coworkers followed by having to go home and deal with her partner and the kids, teenagers no less. Life is very interesting to say the least.
