'47 Meters Down Uncaged' Blu-Ray Review

Our story has stepsisters Mia (Sophie Nelisse) and Sasha (Corinne Foxx) decide not to follow through on the shark trip that their father Grant (John Corbett) has booked for them. They wanted to be more hands on rather than just touristy as the shark trip would have been. So the two sisters decided to spend the day with two fellow teenage girls Nicole (Sistine Rose Stallone) and Alexa (Brianne Tju). The four girls decided to go diving through the remains of an old civilization that was under water.  Problems arise very quickly when girls see they are swimming with a great white shark. The girls are in some tight places and one could easily feel claustrophobic while trying to get away from the shark and head to the surface.

The story briefly in the beginning showed a little bit conflict between the sisters Mia and Sasha but doesn’t go much farther after that. The four main characters aren’t allowed to show who or what they are but we the audience are rather quickly brought into the life and death conflict taking place under water. The main character of our story has to be the shark. No this is not a jaws remake. The father does come off as wanting to have a real relationship with the girls but there isn’t enough time  given to that part of the story.
Lionsgate is bringing our story to Blu-Ray and the quality is excellent. The sights and sounds of the film are superb. Don’t get me wrong this is a good film to watch. There could have been more to our main characters but it is enjoyable to watch. It will make a wonderful addition to your personal library. With the holidays coming up this would make a wonderful gift for that special person in your life. So yes get out there and pick this one up and enjoy this film.
