'Blair Witch Blu-Ray' Review

The woods around Burkittsville, Maryland are supposed to be haunted. It has been twenty years since James Donahue (James Allen McCune) has seen his sister Heather. Heather was last spotted in the nearby woods while she and her friends worked on 'The Blair Witch Project'. The group had been searching the woods for evidence of foul play. You see, there had been several mysterious and unexplained events over the years and they wanted answers. What the team got became part of the mystery. They never made it out of the woods, alive.

Twenty years later James sees a video on YouTube and his sister is on it. Supposedly she's in a old house deep in the woods. James gathers some friends to go search for her. He takes Lisa (Callie Hernandez) a student filmmaker who is working on a story about the Blair Witch. He also takes his friends Peter (Brandon Scott) and Ashley (Corbin Reid) along for the ride. They really have high hopes in finding Heather or at least finding out what happened to her.

They get together with Lane (Wes Robinson) and Talia (Valorie Curry) once they are in Maryland. Wes and Talia were the people who had posted the video on YouTube with Heather on it. The two want to go along with the others and since they know where this place Heather might be, James allows them to come along.

They arrive at the woods and begin their search. All is good at first but soon everything begins to go crazy. It doesn't take long before the group knows that something is terribly wrong and that all that has been said about the woods is real.

Lionsgate brings this horror to us on DVD on January 3rd, 2017. The quality of the Blu-Ray is excellent and the sights and sounds are perfect. This is definitely one that you will want to add to that personal horror library. You will want to make some popcorn and sit back on a snowy night and just let your imagination go. This movie will make you love being afraid all over again. Enjoy.
